2009 Poster and Poetry Contest Winners
CONGRATULATIONS Out of nearly 3,500 poster contest entries received from Oahu students in grades K-6, and more than 200 poetry contest entries received from Oahu students in grades 7-12, a total of 12 winners and 12 honorable mention prizes were awarded in each contest. Winners were selected based on the accuracy of information, originality, creativity, and artistic or poetic ability, based on the student's age, to convey this year's contest theme, "Ola I Ka Wai - Water Gives Life." First place winners won a trip to a BWS Facility, including bus transportation provided by Roberts Hawaii, for their class. Click here to view a story about one of the field trips.
