Board of Water Supply Assures Waiawa and Pearl City Residents on Safety of their Water

HONOLULU –  The Board of Water Supply (BWS) wishes to assure its customers that water in the Waiawa and Pearl City communities is safe to drink and has no detection of petroleum.

This statement is in response to concerns received at the agency after the Navy released that they had found a petroleum compound at 650 parts per billion in samples taken from drinking water at a Pearl City Peninsula home. The homes in the Pearl City Peninsula area are served by the Navy’s water system. For residents that live nearby, if you receive a bill from the BWS, you are on our water system and the water is safe to use and consume.
