This informative workshop offered by the Board of Water Supply (BWS), Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG) and the City and County of Honolulu Environmental Services will teach you the basics of backyard composting using resources from your own yard and leftovers from your table!

Details

This beginner backyard composting workshop teaches you how to turn yard trimmings and food scraps in to compost. Compost enriches soil, helping retain moisture, suppresses plant disease and pests, and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers. Participants will learn tips on how to set up their own backyard composting system in a manageable space while helping to reduce waste in our landfills.

Advanced registration is required. Registration opens on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, and closes at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, or when all spaces are filled.
